We brought different musical styles and experience to our relationship. I introduced Mark to the world of fiddle music, and he taught me about jazz and improvisation. This CD is intended to be a mosaic of some of the styles we enjoy playing together. The word "Picassiette" was a nickname for the Frenchman who is known as the father of mosaic art, Raymond Isidore. Picassiette translates roughly to "plate stealer", but it eventually came to be the name of the artistic technique. We hope that these tunes we have collected in bits and pieces over the years will, when put together, form something beautiful and cohesive.
