John Goodin and Erik Sessions have that knack I admire so much, to be able to write a novel tune that is faithful to tradition, then perform it masterfully. This CD is grand, it makes me wish I could travel more often for dances, I would be out in Iowa for their next home town dance. By the way, I noticed one tune, 3-Legged Dawg, was written by Erik Peterson of Pig's Eye Landing. Just thought you would like to know. And just one more thing, as much I would like to claim credit for this fine band, there is no connection between Contratopia and Contracopia other than the fact that we carry their CDs. ~patrick |
